Democrats Find Spine Today!Bush in Contempt! Torture Banned! No Retroactive Immunity for Bush's Illegal Surveillance!

February 14, 2008

Audio

Flip-flopping McCain voted today to allow torture.
Meanwhile the House Democrats may have miraculously found their spine in Article I of the Constitution by voting today to hold Miers and Bolton in contempt!

And Republicans disrupt Tom Lantos’ Memorial Service! Boy they hate Congtressional Oversight. Don’t they!

Did you know we executed 8 Japanese for water torture (the old name for waterboarding)? Maybe they were trying to prevent an atomic bomb explosion. Wouldn’t that make — in Bush’s and McCain’s view — their torture of American servicemen justified?

Oh what a slippery slope we fall on when we start justifying inhumane and unconstitutional violence. Remember when we used to think of America as the good guys? Remember when the world used to agree?

Happy Valentine’s Day. Now if only we could create an America that spread love and was loved by the rest of the world…

Taking the oath, I have taken that oath and lived in that realm. Took it seriously.
So what of our Congress and President’s oath?
What of Monica Goodlings oath to the President?
(is that the oath you took)?
(is that the oath contractors take)?
It is dirty business when you
-give contractors complete killing impunity but not your deployed military in harms way?
-Exempt legal accountability to contractors that rape female contractors in the name of that America and immunity given?
-Order the use of cluster bombs in the midst of civilians? Let someones God sort them out, right?
May you someday soon get your desired red carpet tour of area 51.

The president of the U.S. does not have access to Area 51–that should tell you somethun–when recruits take the oath to enter the military–it’s an eerie feeling (like you know you are selling your soul to forces out of your control–at that moment you cease to be a U.S. citizen and become property of the government–Government Issue all the way, Mothafucka)
Ah–the dirty business of being the most powerful country in a dying suicidal world

There are times that I realize how little say Americans have in their Gov’t.
I’ve watched this nation taken to brinks of Fascism. By that I point to a Man, that becomes President with the royal crest of unitary presidential rule. A President that his followers suggest came in the name of their God.
When the voice of Americans so strongly made a clear statment in the ’06 election. An election that the President himself called a,” thumping “.
Our Congress “stays the course of the unitary Presient. Why?
    Example;
Statement of Purpose: To strike the provisions providing immunity from civil liability to electronic communication service providers for certain assistance provided to the Government.

    I’m in a party of 31….
It seems I am in a minority in my own party that is actually a majority, which does not honor the ’06 election voice of the people. My party is the 31 Senators above.
I have a Republican congressman that sends me emailers with such written nonesense of, “his obstruction on purpose”, “don’t believe what you read in the papers”, “the Democrats aren’t reaching out to republicans” and, “your a Cut & running Wuss if not for blood, death and war profiteering”. As if the last years of republican majority rule reached out to the minority democrats. Right…….
I’m for bipartisanship on many issues. It is not bipartasanship when Repubs party line their vote and 19 Democrats vote with them to give immunity to Telecoms because the President demands it. Immunity that in fact will cover any laws broken by this Administration.
Watch and see republican bipartasanship with a democratic president? They will get worse. I am already getting Republican surveys asking if they should obstruct even more and to donate.
Fact is they continue to vote to fund this occupation and rebuilding of Iraq. An investment only Haliburton, Exxon Mobil will profit. They hope to reap the taxpayers investment and sell that taxpayer return (oil) to Americans at the pump. America is just out of luck and their money investment. There was and is no threat from Iraq.
They are bent on giving immunity for unknown, unspecified illegal activity. Why doesn’t it state in the bill that immunity is for violating the constitution by unlawfully spying on Americans in the name of a unitary President.
It can’t be about Telecoms and their costly law suits or a costly fine. It has to be about covering the Presidents arse. If we can’t sue the Telecoms we can’t find out how far it went.
And anyone that was harmed by this have no recourse at all. But also, the President did nothing wrong because Telecoms were granted immunity and no wrong exists anymore.
Sure the President as Gov’t asked for this help of the Telecoms and they responded with absolutely no concern for the Constitution. So next time when a Gov’t contractor requires unwarranted spying on Americans, Shall the Telecoms assist? Take Blackwater asking for information from sprint on U.S. citizens for example. Is that OK?
Our Commander in Chief has asked and ordered our military into war and occupation of a foreign country. Our troops have done some things that did not comply with the UCMJ. Which blackwater Inc Et Al have blind immunity provided.
Yet does anyone hear of a demand by the President or the Senate to give immunity to our soldier(s) that have been Court Martialed for their actions in the line of duty because the President called on them for their help for their country.? Name that person that calls for troop immunity?
Where is the immunity for American military?
I ask you, is America’s President and Congress royal rulers or representative of the people?
They vote themselves a pay raise during a time of economic reccession. Vote themselves health care from a people that have to pay for it although those taxpayers can’t afford health care for themselves or their children. They use their positions to sell their vote in self profit.
When caught red handed, they merely step down in disgrace. For them this stealing from the people (when caught), calls for the serious punishment of stepping down in “disgrace” as a millionaire.
Oh, the shame and hardship of living with the ill earned wealth.
It pains me that the Blackwaters are above the law now, as our legislators and President. They profit tremendously from taxpayers. While our U.S. military are paid little and live under a strict code of conduct called the UCMJ.
-American taxpayers are paying sunni and shia $300 dollars a week to kill Al Qaida in their neighborhoods and ethnic cleanse. We arm them and provide ammo.
When the ethic cleansing and Al Qaida are gone. They will turn on us. We have Americans out of work and our Gov’t pays these Iraqi’s $3oo per week? And our Congress continues to vote for funding the pallets of cash that gets sent to Iraq and comes up missing.! GW economics for you.
And what can one person do about it? Apparently not even a majority of voters in this country that provides a majority party to make change in direction in Congress. To hold actions to accountability continues to result in ignoring the electorate.
I mean come on. These Dems voted with Inhofe, Domenici, Larry Craig, David Vitter, Ted Stevens?
These Dems choose them over the electorate?
