Outsourcing, Part 2

James H. DeGraffenreidt, Jr, CEO of Washington Gas and Light Company and Chairman of the American Gas Association has announced he is “considering” mass firings of local workers to move these jobs to India, Bangladesh, and other places abroad.
And here’s the kicker: he’s raising rates to consumers to pay for it. Washington Gas is doing it under the radar, but if it succeeds, it will set a test case for the nation.
Guests: Dan Dyer, President of Local 2 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union, Recording Secretary Sarah Stough and Sam Weinstein, Assistant to the President of the (National) Utility Workers Union of America shine the spotlight on a policy often discussed in private but rarely reported by the national media: outsourcing. And how it harms not just workers, but consumers as well.
