Because at this time I happen to be a registered with the Democratic Party. I what to thank you for your best attempt at saying Merry Chistmas or just Happy Holidays. Not for the sake of any Political persuasion but for what interaction we have exchanged and for a basic good unto others.
I know how “Happy Hoklidays” just irks certain people. The “Happy Holidays” has always been considered by me and most reasonable I’ve known to simply be a phrase that encompasses best wishes and good tidings not only for ones Christmas celebration(s), also to enclude New Years as holidays off with family and friends as well. I would enclude it allows for the “Gift giving” Christmas’ers or others that celebrate Christmas in different ways a manner of greetings.
Quite different than what a Bill O Rielly War on Christmas is, I’m sure.
Our local paper had an article in our “public Pulse” (locals write in and are printed for local readership). This chap wrote in and praised this “Bank” for placing a Nativity scene on its roof with the banks name smack in the display on the foof of the bank.
A touching scene as this bank is known locally for its foreclosing, high interest rates, etc.
Just makes me wonder why the fuss over Nativity scenes and Christmas displays on business and public court houses to the Public sanitary Sewage Control Facilities.
I for one wish you the best this Holiday season, whether it be speaking in toungues, praying to stautues, honoring the mega churches pastor, appreciating the churches play that was put on, the sermon given, or to the spirit of the heart.
Don’t be offended by a Happy Holidays greeting.
It is simply “Seasons Greetings” that have been on Christmas Cards and Christmas displays since at least the 30’s and 40’s.
We can agree tht Christmas has been commercialized for some time and causes a lose of the original meaning for celebrating. There is no foundation to inject politicize partisanship
into Christmas as some attempt and succeed with insecure individuals that find no justification in their beliefs and customs unless others are either forced to succumb or are Paganized as outcasts.
