A Crash-Course in Senate Procedure
And why it matters in the passage of the health-insurance reform bill…
60 votes?  50 votes?
Who decides? And why?
Today, in a special two-hour show*  guest-hosting for Leslie Marshall, Mark not only explains arcane Senate procedures, he debates heath insurance, financial regulation, and global warming with a smattering of callers, most of whom disagree!
*The original show was three hours, but the commercials were removed for the archive.

I think on the filibuster, we should defer to the brilliance of that great liberal Paul Krugman….
“The big step by extremists will be an attempt to eliminate the filibuster.”– Paul Krugman, New York Times, March 29, 2005
Then again, like a good liberal his words are apparently quite malleable…
“We need to take on the way the Senate works. The filibuster, and the need for 60 votes to end debate, aren’t in the Constitution. . . . So it’s time to revise the rules.”–Paul Krugman, New York Times, Dec. 18, 2009
Well I guess both statements are not inconsistent. He is leading the extremists and insisting they convert us to a Marxist dictatorship!
This may be the last you hear from me as I expect Mark Lloyd will not tolerate this kind of “Corporate-sponsored” dissent!!! As Hugo Chavez as done, so shall Lloyd and Obama and the EXTREMISTS IN CONGRESS!!!
