Misplaced Guns in the Nation's Capitol [IS]

May 3, 2015

I discuss the astounding fact that three separate Glock handguns have been left behind by accident by Congressional Security personnel in our Nation’s Capitol this year.
• When a member of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) security detail left his Glock and magazine stuffed in the toilet seat cover of a Capitol Visitor Center bathroom stall, a CVC worker found the gun on January 29th of this year
• A 7- or 8-year-old child visiting the Capitol with his parents found a loaded Glock lost by a dignitary protection officer. A member of the security detail for Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) allegedly left the firearm in the bathroom of the speaker’s suite on March 24th of 2015
• A third Glock was found the night of April 16th this year by a janitor cleaning the Capitol Police HQ building on D St NE. The weapon was left in plain sight. House Rules chair Peter Sessions (R-TX) said he wanted Capitol Police to “retrain everyone that carries a gun”
• Unlike a gun with a traditional safety, a Glock will fire if the trigger is pulled – (could have been nasty for the little boy). A report obtained by CQ Roll Call showed the Office of Professional Responsibility recommended six days suspension without pay for the officer in the 29 Jan incident. The latter two incidents are still under investigation

Baltimore Prosecutor Seeks Justice for Freddie Gray [IS]

April 30, 2015

The indictment of six Baltimore Police Officers in the homicide of Freddie Gray is both timely and necessary. Marilyn Mosby, the State Attorney for Baltimore City, made the right decision. We also now know that Freddie Gray was not carrying a knife when he was arrested, which had previously been reported.

Baltimore Mom [IS]

April 29, 2015

I discuss Toya Graham, the Baltimore Mom who found her son throwing rocks with the rioters and smacked him upside the head, plus made him take his mask off.  I agree with her actions, and feel the rioters hurt the cause of the peaceful protestors who were trying to draw attention to the injustice of Freddie Gray’s death.  I take many calls in the hour, including some who vehemently disagree with me about the riots.

Baltimore Riots [ISLM]

April 28, 2015

I discuss why I believe that justice is needed for Freddie Gray, but that the people who rioted and looted in Baltimore are counterproductive to achieving that goal.  This is because their actions drown out the majority of people who had been speaking out and protesting peacefully in Baltimore, prior to the riots.

April 27, 2015

Listen in as I play excerpts from today’s hearing at the Supreme Court on Marriage Equality, and then use my background as a Congressional Attorney to dissect them for you.
