    GW
    The attack happened on GW’s watch,
    in embarrassment he shagged his ass to Omaha.
    So he struck back,
    sending armies out to get his foes,
    real and imagined;
    with million dollar bombs
    he did more than step on toes.
    Instead of policing dispatchers of suicide killers;
    GW answered with war,
    the way of the dinosaur.
    Instead of being a hero,
    GW overreacted to a mistake
    and became an unwitting tool,
    for those who would harm us.

    Kill one terrorist and create ten more–spending massive amounts of money in Iraq will not make America safer–do you feel safer that muslim Indonesia has a democratic government? Ben, you said the magic words, “spending massive amounts of money on homeland security will not make us completely safe.” (As long as we have people who hate us enough to die to kill us) Somehow we have to give neo-terrorists a reason not to commit suicide attacks; and quarantine, kill and/or neutralize the hard-cores. Until then let’s make America at least as important to defend as Iraq–$100 Billion more for homeland security (Reduce tax cuts for fat cats–that’ll cover it–we rationed commodities in WWII–let’s ration big bucks to top-feeders in World War Terror. I wonder can that be done by executive order? That would be a burn to Republicans if Kerry did that with the authorization for war given to Bush.

    Well put Ben, and I acknowledge that in reality fanatics are a small minority of the whole. However they are often the group that steals the spotlight and put the majority in a bad light.
    I’m disappointed that guest fell into reading the prepared “Talking Point” hand out from the party. His rhetoric and character attacks were predictable. Do these guys think for themsleves or are they just programmed to repeat talking points of the day.
    As far as defense, I think the money spent on the war in Iraq could’ve been better spent. Terrorists can come from anywhere and attacking one third world counrty isn’t going to stop them at all. Good policing of our borders is where I think our attention should be. Also we should concentrate on the causes of Terrorism and address those. Attacking the symptom is pointless in the long run. Most times we don’t know who’s a terroist until it’s to late and we can’t go around just killing anybody we think might be or might become a terrorist. There are those who are obviously terrorists and they should be brought to justice, one way or another.
    I just don’t understand how a war in Iraq is going to stop terrorist from, say, somewhere in Asia from attacking the U.S.

    sorry for the caps earlier…the program i was running at work requires caps so i forgot to turn it off…
    Ill have to agree with Rik about how washington is run. One wrong justifies another…it should not be like that. Until both sides decide to do what is right for the nation rather then thier petty bickering it is always going to be that way, but such is the struggle for power…
    I think they need to wipe washington clean of everyone there…start all over…everyone there is jaded. I know this is not possible but its the only solution.
    you can think what you want about christianity, of course there are they wackos (i have some in my family) but for the most part you have the entire religion dead wrong.
    The “christians” who kill Dr’s will be judged, they have also misinterpreted what the Bible says…but you can not take the acts of a few and classify everyone. I do not believe all muslims are bad, but there are fanatics.
    On another not mark mentioned today that we are spending 200 billion in Iraq and only 20 billion on homeland security (where he disagrees with a missile defense system). No security system is full proof. eliminate terrorism (which im not entirely sure is possible) then we dont need as much homeland security…spending massive ammounts of money on homeland security will not make us completly safe. I dont think HLS is a bad thing i just think killing the enemy is a sure fire way to prevent an attack.

    Bush flip flops? (just one of many):
    “I’m a war time president”.
    “I am a peace president”.
    Does anyone know where I can buy those ADubyaOL bumper stickers?
    I guess Ben is a sadomasochist if he justifies torture with the Bible and also believes in the golden rule: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”
