Our Dangerous Alliance with Al Quaeda; Run Al Run!

February 27, 2007

Mark debates Republican Strategist Mike Lane on our indirect aid to Al Quaeda, Election 2008, and the Libby trial:
1) Al Quaeda: In a confusing, confounding, convoluted capitulation to terrorists, we now appear to be helping Sunni terrorists connected with Al Quaeda as a counterpart to Shiite Iran! Mark asks when will we learn that Shiites and Sunnis will kill each other without our blood and money?
2) In his first too-early look at Election 2008, Mark embarrasses himself by begging and pleading for Al Gore to run for President (with Vice Presidential nominee Barack Obama).
3) And, in the Libby trial, Republicans argue that perjury isn’t such a bad thing after all….

Maybe we shouldn’t listen to anyone–because we are all guilty–we are all part of the collective that is accelleratingly self-destructive

Thanks Skip. I’m not in “denial” – I just don’t buy the Gore line (extreme) and my point with him is that if he’s so convinced of the seriousness of it, he shouldn’t be telling other people what to do, what not to do when he’s literally more “guilty” of adding to the problem with his lifestyle than I am. See?

It looks like I missed out on some fun. I’ve been moving into a house lately. My back is really sore.
    Hey Vicky,
Just in case you have been listening to the Denial Machine too often, take a look at this:

Even the Pentagon is seriously considering the effects of global warming as a national security issue. Of course I first heard about their study several years ago, and it wasn’t from the mainstream media (or should I call it the mainlining media).

Al Gore has no right to own a large estated home just because he has wealth, lives in a capitalistic economy, and espouses great concern over the GOP’s dreaded Global Warming. Now if a wealthy conservative owns a “Gore” estate and gobbles energy that may add to Global warming. It is fine as long as he is oblivious to Global Warming and denies it exists. Then it is OK.
Why does the GOP hate people with wealth that buy large homes and choose to recycle and buy green energy? Don’t they like capitalism and home ownership, and ecological responsibility?
It’s so cute when you have a conservative one minute Disclaiming Global warming all together.
Then when attacking Al Gore for his home energy. Only then does Global Warming get admitted to that it exists. So Global warming exists only for the purpose of gotcha Gore Bashing.
