OK, OK, he’s a war hero. We knew that. So was Kerry.
But would McCain DO as President?
Anything that’s different from Bush?
Last night, he didn’t say.
A caller today just disputed that the United States Department of Energy said that offshore drilling would not affect oil prices unitl 2030. Here’s the proof: Access to the Pacific, Atlantic, and eastern Gulf regions would not have a significant impact on domestic crude oil and natural gas production or prices before 2030.
And this is for the listener that actually thought McCain would be different from Bush in somehow ending our addiction to oil.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

    Pleasure speaking with you.
I would have added to your comment about the Dept. Energy paper on off-shore drilling (I’ve read it too – its my evening business) that even with a complete removal of all bureaucratic slowdowns you are still looking at only a 4 year speedup which means we see oil form the out shelf no earlier than 2026. I checked worldwide deep water oil rigs rental rates have tripled because there is a shortage of these rigs.
You know the decrease in gas prices has been linked to lowered US consumption (I suspect politics like 2006). Anyway the decrease in demand is surprisingly close to conservative estimates of the savings likely from the one change Obama mentioned that we can make today — properly inflated tires (~1% of total consumption). Hmm!

    Doctor, Doctor,
Can McCain’s PTSD and his inflicted castration experience as a HERO (survivor) POW cause unwarranted aggressive tendency conflict within him to want to zealously spread that same demoralizing disease to others though more wars in Gods name?
Is it like when a child grows up in the home enviroment with complete and utter abuse by his father.
That child tends to pass on that abuse to his child. Continuing the chain of the disease.?
Does John think he can make more Heroes for the country via war?
That more soldiers need to experience what he did to love his country? That they can love their country more than everyone else? At least espouse that illusion?
Can America only be reminded of their love and pride in their country by the frequent reality sights of maimed and limbless veterans?

John (Mr. Magoo) McCain has PTSD–bigger than shit–and nobody has the guts to front him on it–he is a Dr. Strangelove waiting to happen–count the number of times he uses the word “fight”–he has a pain-racked body that has to affect his mind–seemingly his great destiny of surviving his travails of war is to be a presidential runner-up ala Bob Dole–better than some GIs who have committed suicide since coming back to the world–here he comes, there he goes, what he knows, nobody knows–and they call him Mr.McCain

    Mark,
    Sen McCain did say.
He spoke furiously at the end of his speech in regards to fighting and fighting and fignting.
Like he fought for us as a Keating 5 member.
His stance on education, well. Privatize it for profit. Shutting out many americans adn Americas future.
If privatizing Public scools for profit is his only answer when he states that public schools are a disgrace and espouses disdain for unions and American public school teachers.
If Johnny is a fighter as he says.
Why does he cut & run from rebuilding public schools and fighting to make them great.
McCain conceeds the war on better public education. Teach the rich and train your servants well is a bad attitude.
    Where was John’s domestic resolutions?
Palin brings pep and life that John needed but people don’t really vote for the Veep. Cheney is my proof.
