The Murder of Dr. George Tiller

June 3, 2009

Guests: Sara Robinson Fellow with the Campaign for America’s Future specializing in extreme right-wing violence; and
Dr. Burt Humburg, a medical doctor and personal friend of Dr. Tiller
The Kansas medical doctor gunned down in his church last Sunday did not do late-term abortions in order to “kill fetuses.”  He did them in order to save women’s lives.
Fewer than 1% of abortions that are late term are only allowed under Kansas Law when, without them, a woman would otherwise suffer “substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function.”
But I guess the radical “pro-life” movement doesn’t care much about the life of this doctor or the life of the woman who is a mere “holding vehicle” for the all-important fetus (whose health care Republicans want to deny after it is born).

There is a religious (fanatic) fundamentalism that festers in the anit abortion side. There may be many that abhore abortion and reasonably address their views. Yet they also stand by and abet the violence that they seemingly attempt to distance themselves from publically and enable privately.
They are the same character as the story below.
Why I question those keepers of the faith
    ………………………………………………………….
What religion or God teaches such ignorance? That leads to death.

11-year-old Girl Dies of Untreated Diabetes while Her Parents Pray
    April 29, 2008 ·
Dale and Leilani Neumann refused to seek medical attention for their 11-year-old daughter, who was suffering from acute untreated diabetes. Eventually her condition, called ketoacidosis (a lack of the proper amount of insulin in the body), became fatal. The parents refused medical help because they thought their daughter was being attacked spiritually and that prayer was the answer.
Family and friends had urged Dale and Leilani Neumann to get help for their daughter, but the father considered the illness “a test of faith” and the mother never considered taking the girl to the doctor because she thought her daughter was under a “spiritual attack,” the criminal complaint said.
Even more gruesome is what happened after the girl died. When told that the body would be taken away the next day for autopsy, the parents replied,
“You won’t need to do that. She will be alive by then.”
The two parents are being charged with second-degree reckless homicide.
These people cannot fathom a pregnant woman who finds out she has cancer and now faces requiring Chemotherapy. Which will most definately negatively effect the baby she carrys.
They demand refusal of her right to choose. But fancy themselves as defenders of freedom. Only women are faced with this situation. It is their decision.
Not the clergy of some fundamental terrorist swath that fancys themselves as a soldier of some Godly crusade.
They are more like Al Qaida than they will ever be honest enough with themselves to see in the mirror.
Physics tells us that with every action their is a reaction. It won’t be pretty when the reaction surfaces.
If you want to take their framework of meeting creators. What do they think is waiting for their soul eternally by taking this doctors life and those that enable and abet, others that act out their small hateful torments on others (as they would want to be treated themselves) when they have to face judgement of God.
Do they think they will recieve 17 virgins for the sin they deal in as al Qaida? We can see if we look and listen close enough that they actually believe they will be rewarded by their God as Al Qaida believes they also will be rewarded.
You can see from the news story of the 11 yr old girl who died because their God and faith could not overcome what medical science of diabetes has. And those that stood by are in many ways worse than those they hate over the womans choice to opt abortion. And by advised, any option of abortion is not good. It doesn’t make it non-optional as the parents of that 11 yr old girl decided for her. If that girl had a choice, I am sure she would have chosen insulin over prayer or insulin and prayers on the side.
I have to ask, does anyone believe that the Killer of Doctor Tiller, who is espousing more violence and death to come. All those that are pro torture, Should this killer be totured to find out future plots of murder and other fanatics plotting to commit mayham?

    Who Knows the Wind?
    Who knows the wind,
    or the origin of man,
    or the moon,
or the destiny of the stars
    of heaven,
who knows the dance of life,
    as it shows truth
    in all its stark reality,
shining through the dark of night
with the light of wise intention,
    who knows the wind
    flowing through the mind,
    knows naturally,
    the love that is within
the common sense of all creation.

If an American has the right to have a gun and defend oneself even if it ends the life of the person they percieve as a life threatening danger.
Shouldn’t a female have this same right to defend her health against those percieved that endanger their their life when they opt to exercise their right to privacy?
