Ex-Felons: Why Dems Want Them Voting; Why Repubs Want Them Armed

August 22, 2016

I’m joined by callers as I discuss why Democrats, like Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, want ex-felons to vote. I also delve into why Republicans have a problem with ex-felons voting, yet seem to have no problem allowing them to buy guns.

Should We Arm American Terrorists?

June 27, 2016

90% of Americans say of course not!
Yet, even a bill with ample due process, like Republican Senator Susan Collins’ bill, was voted down by Republicans.
Collins’ bill would allow any American citizen or non-citizen resident(!) to appeal a denial of a gun purchase. It put the burden of proof on the government to show the individual is suspected of terrorism. And it even allowed people who win their appeals to recover their costs and attorney’s fees(!)
Yet while every Democrat voted for it, the vast majority of Republicans voted it down.
It seems the vast majority of Republicans would rather arm terrorists in America than risk losing the millions in donations they get from the NRA.
They would murder ISIS members by drone (with no due process) if they are on the other side of the globe.
But if ISIS is right here and living among us, the GOP would make sure they are massively armed with AR-15s, explosives, and thousands of rounds of bullets. They do everything but show ISIS the address of the nearest church or nightclub.
How can they possibly defend this?

Donald Trump's High-Water Mark

June 20, 2016

I’m joined by callers as I discuss why I believe that Donald Trump has already reached his ‘high-water mark’ in the polls and why it’s all down hill for him from here on out.
I also briefly discuss why I believe the Senate should vote to expand background checks on gun purchases and prohibit people on the terrorist watch list from buying guns.

The Global War on Terrorism: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

December 7, 2015

I analyze President Obama’s oval office address regarding Terrorism, ISIS, San Bernardino and guns.

Mass Shootings Should Never Feel Ordinary

December 3, 2015

I’m joined by Chelsea Parsons, the Vice President of Guns and Crime Policy at American Progress. We discuss why mass shootings should never feel ordinary and what we can do to help stop the epidemic of gun violence in America.
I also debate a caller who sounds as if he is against any common sense gun reforms whatsoever.

The Republican War On Journalism

November 2, 2015

I’m joined by callers as I discuss how a group of Republican Presidential candidates is threatening to boycott future debates unless a list of their demands is met.
We also end up talking about ‘smart guns’ toward the end of the hour.

The Concealed-Carry Fantasy

October 27, 2015

I’m joined by Ladd Everitt, the Director of Communications of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. We discuss statistics showing that owners of concealed-carry guns are not successful at stopping mass shootings, and instead, are more likely to become a risk to the public themselves.

Pope Francis' Congressional Speech

September 24, 2015

I talk about Pope Francis’ speech that he gave before a joint session of Congress this morning. No surprise, Pope Francis touched upon America’s most polarizing of issues including climate change, abortion, guns, and same-sex marriage.
I play the audio from all the major points of his 50-minute speech.

4 Dead in Chattanooga: Here We Go Again [IS]

July 16, 2015

When will gun owners put lives ahead of their desire to make it easy for nutcases to own semi-automatic weaponry?

No, Jeb, Americans Aren't Lazy [IS]

July 13, 2015

First, I discuss how having a loophole in background checks that allowed Dylann Roof to purchase his gun doesn’t mean we end them, it means we strengthen them.
Then, I discuss with callers as to why Jeb Bush is wrong about Americans needing to “work longer hours.” Doesn’t he know that Americans are the hardest working in the developed world?!
