July 4, 2004

(archived broadcast )
Happy July 4th!
Do you consider yourself patriotic? Why or why not?
Do you consider dissent patriotic? If so, within what bounds?
Is supporting the President patriotic? Is blind support of him unpatriotic?
Is fighting in the military patriotic? Teaching? Doing a radio show?
Do you display the American flag? Why or why not?
Are you more or less patriotic than your neighbors?

Stripped naked and sweating in a snowstorm, sitting in the lotus position just outside my Tibetan cave, I hear the sound of one-hand-clapping and am humbled by the feeling that flows through me–if this is wisdom–I am just a conduit for this force–if I am individual–I am just a part of the greater good that is all around me. How may I serve?

    Reflections on PATRIOTISM
    Happy July 4th!
Before you go out to see the fireworks tonight, tune in at 7:00 pm Eastern (6 Central, 5 Mountain, 4 Pacific) to reflect on what it means to be patriotic. The show begins six minutes after the hour following CNN news.
Do you consider yourself patriotic? Why or why not?
Do you consider dissent patriotic? If so, within what bounds?
Yes, I am patriotic; because I still love the Constitution of the USA.
The Original Constitution; not the bastardized billions of laws foisted upon us since.
But I love people and societies all over the world the same way I love music and food and art from all over the world. Diversity is beauty. And America is DIVERSE.
I think dissent is the essence of freedom. Freedom was the original idea our Constitution attempted to secure for us. Not to dissent is antipathetic to our nation; not merely “unpatriotic”.
Is supporting the President patriotic? Is blind support of him unpatriotic?
Fighting in the military is stupid. It is allowing your spiritual vessel to be taken by an outside power to be used and discarded for the benefit of securing that power. It is the acceptible method by which a society allows itself to be commandeered by others. It is no different than giving yourself over to drugs, religion, otherworldly spiritual ideas. It is a practice that continues throughout the history of man and it’s only ultimate outcome is the ultimate obsenity: WAR.
Is fighting in the military patriotic? Teaching? Doing a radio show?
Teaching and doing a radio show are very similar and as long as the host is dedicated to THE TRUTH as well as they can perceive it to be; and as long as the host realizes that they are NOT the all knowing God; they may allow the free flow of ideas to run back and forth in the class or on the air. This can be a VERY worthwhile and honerable endeavour. BUT the tools (captured audience, young minds in class) can attract very BAD elements (example: Limbaugh).
Do you display the American flag? Why or why not?
Are you more or less patriotic than your neighbors?
No, I do not display the American flag. The America of today is NOT the nation of our past. America is an occupying force upon the minds of the people. It is an octopus, strangling the abiilty of free men to travel and speak freely. It devises any and all methods of stripping her citizens of their worldly goods and wealth with great accuracy, from breaking every family to educate themselves and breaking their older years by educating the young. The American Dream is a lie; a propaganda spoon fed to people to make them march to the tune that keeps the so and so’s in power.
No, I am not more patriotic than my neighbors. They are at the 4th of July firework show, while I am sitting here in the mountains above them on fire watch because I believe sooner or later they’re going to burn down this place if nobody is here to stop it. I don’t worry about being patriotic. Being patriotic is a prerequesite to being “RULED” and I will NOT be “RULED”. I am a free person; and I don’t even have to remain an American to stay that way. I am not patriotic like them; but they are not wise like me.
I would rather be the wiser.

I don’t like fireworks–they make me want to return fire
