Sometimes there’s just too much news…
The California Legislature Passes Equal Marriage Laws for ALL its Citizens
It’s not just the courts now. Elected representatives are recognizing that Americans do deserve equal protection under the law, as our Constitution provides. There is still a place for religious bigots though: it’s called Iran. Don’t you dare veto this one, Schwarzenneggar….
Chief Justice Roberts?
Let’s let the vacancy last a little longer. John Paul Stevens, appointed by Gerald Ford (who would be considered a raving liberal by the Fox Propaganda Channel today) is the Acting Chief Justice. I can live with that for a little while.
The 4th Anniversary of 9/11 Pales in Comparison to the Greater Death and Destruction Caused by Past and Continuing Government Failures to Aid Hurricane Katrina Victims
Four years ago today, the mass murder of 3000 Americans on September 11, 2001 gave the President the excuse he needed to take us to an endless war and occupation that has thus far cost another almost 2000 American lives, 10,000+ wounded, and 30,000+ Iraqi dead. It also gave the President the excuse he needed to dismantle FEMA, one of the best government organizations under Clinton, so that it could no longer help the victims of the New Orleans flood.
The Bush Administration, in its misuse of 9/11, has done more damage to America and Americans that Osama Bin Laden did four years ago today….
Meanwhile, Back in Iraq…
We’ve shown as little capability to fix that country’s infrastructure as we have to shore up our own. Only we have an extra problem there. Folks are shooting at us. Even the radical Bushies don’t seem to believe their own rhetoric anymore about how “the people will welcome us as liberators” and “we will forcibly create a new Democratic, peaceful Middle East with abundant American oil whether the Iraqi People like it or not!” Ahem…what are we fighting for again? Who do you think will be the last person to die for a mistake?
The Utter Depravity that is George Bush
In Bush’s America, thousands must die if it will help the President one iota politically. If at any point you ever lack complete disgust for our President, just click this link, but bring a wastebasket nearby to catch your vomit.
And Finally, the Definition of “Compassionate Conservatism”
“And so many of the people in the arenas here, you know, were underprivileged anyway. This is working very well for them…. What I’m hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas”
— Barbara Bush, on the evacuees from the New Orleans Superdome to the Houston Astrodome

Margaret Sanger still lives in her pro-death abortion crowd.

I believe that the Aryan Race has a higher genetic component than other races, which is a social construct (i.e. why should certain genetic traits be deemed to have meaning?), or gender, which is changeable through a medical operation.

I believe that sexual orientation has a higher genetic component than race, which is a social construct (i.e. why should certain genetic traits be deemed to have meaning?), or gender, which is changeable through a medical operation.
But even if it didn’t, we don’t allow discrimination against people of various religions, and religious belief, unlike sexual orientation, is clearly a choice.
Vicky, did you choose your heterosexuality or do you think you were born that way?
If you want to discuss this further, please post on Tuesday’s blog, since the topic is more germane there.

As reported by Australia’s ABC Online last night:
Britain’s famous science broadcaster and expert on reproductive technology, Lord [Robert] Winston, [Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College, London and science broadcaster for his BBC television programs], says the potential benefits of embryonic stem cell research are being hyped.
And there are scientific problems associated with embryonic stem cell research aside from the ethical question of having to sacrifice embryos, as Professor [Peter] Rathjen, [Executive Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Adelaide], explains.
“Once we’ve learnt how to grow them, we’ve then got to learn how to control their differentiation, that is, how do we turn the stem cells into the kind of cell that we want to transplant.
“And there’s another very important limitation there, which is that the embryonic stem cells themselves are carcinogenic. That is, if you transplant them, you give rise to a particular kind of cancer.
“And then the final thing, and this is probably the greatest single hurdle, we need to find a way to overcome the immuno-rejection barrier, that is if you transplant cells into someone’s body, then most of the time they’re going to reject those cells as foreign….”

Having Bush, Chaney, Rove and company in our White House tends to puts all other national disasters in a much lesser place.
    *******************************************************************
While it is not necessary in ranking the current resident of our White House at the very bottom, I like not to ignore evidence of their roll in 9-11 fore years ago. It does add a different dimension to the evil that they do.
Mark has asked of several guests on this subject what evidence they have that might constitute clear proof. I believe each indicated that it is the accumulation of all evidence that makes the case so overwhelming. I would tend to agree but if asked today what single peace of evidence standing alone might constitute proof of government involvement, I believe I would choose WTC building # 7. It had no impact damage and was clearly brought down by controlled demolition.
Fact: Even good sized crew of professionals on the job, it would take a number of weeks to position and connect all the explosive charges needed. Perhaps more then 2 or 3 months in a building that large. As a certainty such a planned demolition could not be set up in a matter of hours.
Fact: Building # 7 was brought down just hours after the twin towers.
So how would this constitute conclusive proof in itself?
Ask the logical questions. Who could have known, two, perhaps three, months in advance that this building would need to be brought down on that date. Ask how they were able to go about passioning all these explosives over such a period of time. Would anyone think it possible that the BenLaden’s could have accomplished all this on their own?
It is the opinion of any number of structural engineers that all three buildings were brought down by planned implosions and that too makes sense to me for a number of reasons The buildings surely should not have failed after the fires had burned out and all steel returned to full strength.
In each of these posts I like to recall views voiced years earlier, from the very inception of PNAC; We will need a new Pearl Harbor type of event-”
