Debate Tuesday

April 19, 2005

(broadcast stream) (.mp3 download)
Like rats deserting a sinking ship, Republicans are increasingly saying that Majority Leader Tom Delay should stop relying on his privilege against self-incrimination and answer the serious questions about his corruption, criminal activity, and ethical violations.
But one Republican is not deserting his fearless leader: our guest today, Jim Parmelee, Chairman of the Northern Virginia Republican PAC. He’s one of the few Americans left defending Delay’s corruption and refusal to answer questions about it. Call in and challenge Jim!
Other topics which may be discussed:
– Thoughts on the new Pope Benedict XVI (Cardinal Ratzinger)
– Why Senator Rick Santorum’s in political trouble;
– Why Republicans believe that $7 million is not enough money for Parris Hilton to get tax free for doing nothing;
– Parmelee’s attempts to defend John Bolton; and
– Anything else YOU care to bring up

    Labor of Love
    Strung out on a miracle,
    waiting for time to collapse
    around the future,
    wondering if the visualization
    is God’s will
    and ready to accept what is.
    Seeking power, quietly resigned
    to go within;
    the vanity of Yang exhausts.
    Breathing strength,
    offering a rose upon the altar,
    sending prayers to memories,
    knowing the past must be transformed,
    before it can be transcended.
    Now lingers in silent expectancy,
    faith stressing the positive,
    believing in healing,
    birthing the moment to fruition,
    deliverance mixed with pain and joy.
    Behold new life; embrace it.
    Nurture its nature
    growing apart from you,
    but still a part of you.

    The Only Answer
    You’re more than a body,
    more than just thoughts.
    Return to the constant peace
    that is cloaked
    by the ego’s questions of doubt
    that wear you down
    into lovelessness.
    “What are you?”
    The golden apple asks
    what the mind cannot answer
    and the Holy Spirit can,
    in a whisper,
    truly for all time,
    “You are a child of God,
    a priceless part of his kingdom,
    created as part of him;
    Awake to reality
    with no questions asked,
    and the dream will give way
    to certainty
    for eternity.”

    Vicky–the peace isn’t transitory–but for those of us short of enlightenment, realizing that peace is–the ego wears us down as we live life
    So you assess me to be wrong to account reality in its rawest form–and think I am judging myself? There’s gotta be judgment in there somewhere Vicky, doesn’t there
    But you see, freedom is not attaching to thoughts–I don’t see those thoughts as mine–they are just thoughts–so there is no guilt as long as they are real, that would be like judging reality and saying that is bad, when reality, just is(and your ego screams that it has to be good or bad)–it is just a movie on a screen passing before the mind’s eye.
    Your need to attach things–maintain accountability–assess right and wrong–is a dependancy that keeps you bound tightly to the wheel of suffering
    Notice how you need to attribute my postings of many names to me personally as if they are me–as if you are exposing some great secret–when in fact thoughts are just thoughts as free as the wind–tied to no one–guiltless–they are either of frequencies high or low, or fast or slow and have that quality of differentiation–but again Vicky stay away from “good and bad” because, per se, that is to judge–and is a trap for those judging–not the ones being judged
